In the widget display, the Eye button lets an administrator choose who can see the widget. The question mark links to documentation.
You can scope the timeframe of the widget by clicking the calendar buttons.
The Community Health Summary widget provides a quick view into the key performance indicators (registrations, groups, and content) for the entire community to understand the size, growth, level of activity, and amount of engagement.
Typically, this information is available to the Community Manager who is responsible for reporting on how well the community is functioning and recommendations for improvements. But the community manager may open the view of this information to the community sponsors (e.g., key executives sponsoring an internal employee community) through a role to ensure visibility.
This widget can be placed anywhere on the site, but is automatically scoped to the top-level community regardless of where it lives.
Total approved site membership as of the date range end date. This includes all registrations since the beginning of the community, not bounded by the specified start date.
A new registration is defined as all registrations regardless of whether the user created the account through Join; an Administrator created the account in Control Panel, or if the account was created through Active Directory.
Number of unique users who performed one or more active user tasks during the date range.
When you configure the widget, you can define which site-wide roles you motivate in some way (such as your employees, partners, and/or key subject matter experts) versus those who provide crowdsourced content and engagement within your community. This enables you to isolate registration and active member counts as well as content contributions for these two groups.
