The Zimbra Community 8.0 Free Edition, like Zimbra Community 8.0, presents related emails and notifications combined together as plugin modules. The Email Digest is a plugin, as well. As plugin modules, these items have three important new capabilities in release 8.0:
Zimbra Community 8.0 Free Edition has the same plugin module enable (check) and disable (uncheck) options; however, the customizable configurations are unavailable.
In the Free Edition, most emails are still sent by the system (including core emails like password hints) are still sent. However, some emails are disabled in this edition. Please consult the following lists to learn which emails are available to the Free Edition.
(For information about plugins, please see the "Manage plugin modules" article in the Zimbra Community 8.0 documentation. To learn about customizing email templates and the Email Digest, see "Customize email templates" and "Customize the Email Digest template" articles, respectively.)
Search is always visible in the page header, no matter where a user scrolls on the page. In general, wherever you search, Zimbra Community search creates filters based upon the context - for example, content, groups, and people. When searching in a forum, search provides possibly related threads.
(For more information about search, please see the "Using smart search" article in the Zimbra Community 8.0 documentation.)
In Zimbra Community 8.0, jobs, email templates, and notifications all provide extensibility points for development.
(For user and admin information about these option plugins, please see the "Job Service" article; the "List of email plugins" article, and the "Notifications" article - all in the Zimbra Community 8.0 documentation. For development information and APIs, please see the Developer documentation.)
Release 8.0 does not use SiteUrls.config or siteUrls_override.config to set page URLs. Overrides for new URLs need to be converted into plugins. As plugins, they provide greater extensibility.
(For a brief summary about SiteURLs, please see the "Site URLs" article in the user and admin Zimbra Community 8.0 documentation. For development information and APIs, please see the Developer documentation.)
This release provides a new cookie SSO authentication plugin ans anti-forgery cookie plugin.
(For information about this new plugin, please see the "Configure the Cookie Authentication Single Sign-On Client plugin" article in the Zimbra Community 8.0 documentation.)
