On the first day of our user group conference, attendees can choose from four half-day learning workshops:

Strategy: Designing a Community for Customer Experience

Is this the workshop for you? Creating mutual value for your business and your customers, employees or members is vital to a successful online community. This half-day workshop explores the community planning framework so that you’re equipped to plan, manage and evaluate the impact of your online community. Topics covered include: audience goals, business strategy, technology solutions and measuring ROI.

Who should attend? Community managers, social media and online marketing professionals, customer experience and support professionals, and other attendees with business backgrounds who are responsible for creating and implementing their organization’s community strategy. Ideal for new and prospective customers and partners as well as those with veteran communities.

Management: Community System Administration 101

Is this the workshop for you? This half-day workshop provides an in-depth overview of how system administrators can use the features of their online community more effectively. Attendees will learn in-depth advice for maximizing engagement in the community: reputation, gamification, moderation (automatic, manual and crowdsourced), notifications and email, activity streams, authentication and analytics.  

Who should attend? System admins and people responsible for creating and maintaining the structure of their communities. This workshop is ideal for new customers and partners with business backgrounds or those who want a refresher on the latest community enhancements.

Development: Intro to Developing on the Social Platform

Is this the workshop for you? Learn how to customize and extend a community while staying on the upgrade path as we continue to innovate on the social platform. Topics include platform overview, extensibility plugins, content model, Widget Studio, demos as pages, themes, layouts and widgets. This workshop will involve teaching sessions and hands-on development so attendees can put what they learn into action.

Who should attend? This workshop is designed for customers and partners with development experience who are new to the social platform or want a refresher on the basics. Developer training is best suited for people who have experience with C#, ASP.NET, HTML, CSS and JavaScript.

Administrator: Upgrading to Zimbra 8 and Beyond

Is this the workshop for you? Zimbra 8 connects users to their personal cloud with a redesigned interface and a smarter mailbox that helps manage the flow of information through their email, calendar, voice and social channels. Deep integration capabilities with Cisco and Mitel for unified communications allow users to connect their voice and message systems in a unified inbox, enabling Click2Call, voicemail, presence, and chat all from within the Zimbra Web app. Zimbra 8 features a user interface and the integration options to connect users to their cloud and enables a new way to work in the post-PC era.

Best suited for administrators and technical leads responsible for maintaining and upgrading Zimbra, this workshop will feature best practices for sizing/scale, architecture, installation, upgrades and migration.
